Job Description

Our client, a leading player in the logistics and supply chain industry, is seeking a highly skilled Customs & Compliance Manager to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the Customs department and ensure optimal service delivery within the framework of law and regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Customs department and oversee the Customs segment of the Crossborder team.
  • Monitor and safeguard all customs-related processes within the organization, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Efficiently manage the Customs department, maintaining licenses and certifications such as AEO.
  • Adopt a customer-oriented approach, proactively addressing customer issues, complaints, and escalations.
  • Manage customs compliance projects, including the transfer of GPA to DMS.
  • Prepare both ad hoc and periodic reports and analyses.
  • Co-responsible for setting up and monitoring customs-related processes within the organization.
  • Supervise the application and adherence to correct customs regulations for organizational permits.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch/EU Customs and Tax regulations and IFRS/VAT standards.
  • Escalate any customs risks to management.
  • Oversee the timely filing of all import and export declarations with the Dutch Tax Authority (GPA).
  • Continuously monitor and improve the import and export processes regarding customs.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree level of education and thinking.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledgeable about international Customs and Trade regulations, and keeps up-to-date with logistics developments.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Strong customer-oriented attitude.
  • Analytical skills to identify and solve problems, make connections between data, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Disciplined in observing policies, procedures, schedules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership in motivating and developing employees, delegating tasks, and guiding teams.
  • Understanding and executing decisions and actions from a management perspective.
